Sunday, 9/1/2013 - Sarah planted soaked yellow beans in bed 17, Deb's experiment with bean buckets 5 & 6 - 6 had no beans, 5 had one bean plant, struggling - added perlite to the bucket dirt, added drainage holes to buckets, replanted plant in bed 5, added three holes, 2 soaked Roma beans per hole --> is moisture level in good range? Are beans doing better?
Monday, 9/2/2013 - Transplanted squash from bed 18 into bed 8, planted two okra plants in bed 6, for red tomato buckets mixed 1 oz Organocide per gallon of water, giving each bucket 1/2 gallon; planted tomato buckets 1 - 12...did not give buckets water, bloom & root on the eggplant & strawberry (bed 20), planted mustard greens in beds 13 & 18 and gave them bloom & root, solarized bed 9 & removed solarization on beds 4, 5, 11, 12, 16
Wednesday, 9/4 - Sprayed organicide on beds 1, 2, 6, 8, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19 and 20
Saturday, 9/7/2013 - Planted ccucumber seeds (bed 4), white icicle radish seeds (bed 5), Kentucky pole beans (bed 5), collard seeds (bed 7 & 11), spinach seeds (bed 8), cauliflower (bed 12), broccoli (bed15, 18, 20), short n sweet carrots (bed 15), romano pole beans (bed 16), cherry bell radishes (bed 19), black cow tomatoes (Brandywine), planted tomato buckets 13 - 14, planted swiss chard in orange bucket 17.
Monday, 9/9/2013 - planted Sweet Marketmore cucumbers in the middle row of bed 4 and in the last two squares on the left side of the bed at the end closest to bed 1
Tuesday, 9/10/2013 - cucumbers, radishes, beans and collard seeds have sprouted.
Wednesday, 9/11/2013 - cucumbers ready to be thinned, radishes should be ready in a day or two. Sprayed spinosad on the bucket & bed pumpkins, okra, tomatoes & beans to treat leaf miner. Sprayed the hanging tomato leaves with liquid Miracle-Gro, sprayed all beds with Miracle-Gro.
Thursday, 9/12/2013 - beans in bed 5 ready to be thinned.
Saturday, 9/14/2013 - thinned cucumbers, beans and radishes in bed 5 and radishes in bed 19. Put thinned cukes in 3 orange buckets.
Thursday, 9/19/2013 - sprayed pumpkins with 30% milk spray to treat powdery mildew.
Saturday, 9/21/2013 - started 2 piles of horse manure. Applied Blooming & Rooting to all bucket tomatoes. In buckets, planted cabbages (4) and tomatoes (6).
Sunday, 9/22/2013 - Transplanted thinned cukes into 32 individual containers, leaving 3 - 4 cukes in each orange buckets. Planted 7 transplants in boat garden.
Tuesday, 9/24/2013 - Transplanted thinned carrots in bed 13 to bed 15. Turned the fresh compost piles & watered.
Wednesday, 9/25/2013 - Sprayed Sevin on all crops; excluded the herbs and flowers. All cuke transplants in individual containers died; all transplants in the boat garden look good. Individual transplants had the mix containing black chicken; boat garden does not.
