Organic: fertilized with Rock Phos, Green Sand, well-aged manuer, and compost. Surrounded with seven feet high electric deer fence. We had bee hives in the garden, but Colony Collapse Disorder wiped them out. We plan to plant fruit trees next year, and perhaps get more bees. Most of the garden is full sun except for the South-most rows. We tried growing cabbage in the past but it does not do well here. The two major pests are Japanese beetles, which we control with Neem Oil, and Squash bugs, which we've not yet successfully controlled. Hopefully, this year, planting the squash family plants where the garlic was, as well as using garlic oil and diatomaceous earth, we will have better results.
