Garden Plans > 2013: taylor veggie patch

About this Garden Plan

This is the larger of our two gardens that we have at the local community garden. As I said with the other garden we stick to our motto of " grow what you love - love what you eat". This year we are trying out broccolini and have both a red and green variety. Yes loads of garlic but then you can never have enough !!!! this year we also have some fall rye going on to keep adding to our compost and also mulching in as veggies are emptied. We have worked really hard getting the soil to where it is, started out with clayish poor soil but with the addition of mulch, compost, fall rye and coco fibre its now so beautiful and rich - and full of earth worms. I get the impression that worms enjoy the starbucks coffee grinds we add in too !!! happy gardening to you all.

Plan Type, Soil and Location

Plan Notes

Small compact garden - only grow what we eat but also big on incorporating fall rye in some empty spots -(as it grows too long I trim and throw in the compost) Add flowers to attract bees/pollinators. Trying Brocollini this year and collards.
