Sow and Plant
Sow directly into the soil or into plugs. Sow 2-3 seeds per station to grow 1-3 plants for pods, or 4-5 seeds per station to grow 3-5 plants for shoots.
Our Garden Planning Tool can produce a personalized calendar of when to sow, plant and harvest for your area.
|
Notes
Support plants with a trellis, which can be made from string, netting, or twiggy sticks pushed into the ground near each plant.
|
Harvesting
Pick snow peas when the delicate pods begin to show immature seeds inside. Gather snap peas when the pods become plump yet are still glossy and filled with sweet-tasting peas. Pick shell peas before the pods become waxy.
|
Troubleshooting
Mature plants usually stop producing and die back in hot summer weather.
